*Drools* I absolutely LOVE this castle!!! I would love to live in a castle like this! When I write and incorporate a castle into my stories, this is exactly the kind of building I think of! Magnificent and wondrous! A beautiful photograph and a lovely piece of architecture! Thank you for sharing this with the world!!

according to the author Bernard Cornwell, he's descended from the original holders of the castle, back in Saxon vs Viking era...I can barely trace my family back to 1599...:)

Great shot of the castle! I did archeology with the Bamburgh Research Project a few years back. This brings back great memories :D

Good angle to show how impressive the castle is. We used to go to Bamburgh a lot when I was younger. Lovely wee place. I love the Grocers/newsagents in the corner of the walled garden...

I love this shot! Very close to my hometown, and brings out the age of the castle itself! considering the castle has been around since the 11th centuary thats very impressive!

I have never seen a castle in finer condition than this one considering the age etc. Cheers! :)

Very impressive shot - shows what an intimidating place it would be to have to attack!

Thanks very much! :) After the long drive there the only thing I was attacking was a can of pop and a sarnie!
